For over 6 years THEATRIX had provided production lighting services for Western New England College (now Western New England University) yearly commencement. This production was mounted at the Wilbraham campus Heathy living center, a gymnasium style venue for 5000 attendees.  In the past THEATRIX helped to transform (with lighting) the athletic facility main gym into a more suitable presentation space for this prestigious academic event.

A very workable solution had been suggested by THEATRIX company president  and TECH*SPEConsultant  Bruce Wallace for the previous 2 years… the university should combine all their events over 2 days in the same HLC venue.  A much more practical approach from the past years additional venue same day law school graduation setup location (Springfield Symphony hall) and of course saving the added cost of 2 set ups in 2 locations.

This past year (2015) The idea finally came to be and THEATRIX was  given the opportunity to expand our responsibilities and involvement to provide a full technical production package w/production management and design services including lighting, sound and video (both live and streaming web content) for the undergraduate and graduate commencement and the now relocated law school graduation on the next day.  All presentation technology was brought up to higher production standards.  Now, a 2 day event in one location with certain economies of scale applied,  the same equipment with full production coordination and site management looked better and lowered overall budget . A win-win situation for all.
