Worcester County Mechanics Hall
As stewards of an historic concert hall and events venue and proud of its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, we find ourselves cautious in our selection of service and equipment providers who possess and employ sensitivity to the unique needs of places like ours. The team at THEATRIX recently completed a project to replace both the tracking system and drapery at the entrance to our main stage. Prior to this project, the drapery at this location sagged, revealing the unattractive track mechanism that supported it, and the track rollers themselves were noisy. The THEATRIX solution solved both problems in a way that was functionally satisfactory and aesthetically pleasing. A pretty bright solution for what I thought was just a lighting company. Seems they knows about hang ups, too and live up to the company statement …a lot more than lights…

Christmas Services at Christ Church in Southwick, MA.
Thanks for spending time with me to design a great lighting plan for our Christmas Services at Christ Church in Southwick, MA. We loved the beautiful color changing capabilities of the LED Spectra Cycs. I really appreciate that Scott and Bruce knew what I needed even though I couldn’t articulate it well, technically speaking! Everything worked exactly as I was instructed, and the setup and removal could not have been simpler for me. Our church has relied on Theatrix for many years to supply us with ideas, equipment, color, images, and the expertise to make beautiful displays in our worship services!

For 12 years, Theatrix has been my “go to” source for equipment rentals and purchases as well as for sundry needs like tape, tie line, lamps, and gels. Most recently, we added several LED Source 4s and Desires along with an ION console. Theatrix’s pre-purchase advice as well as the post-install support has been extremely helpful and has made the transition to a hybrid space that much easier. No matter if the lead time is 2 months or suddenly during a tech week, Theatrix is always a quick phone call away and have never left me with an unanswered question or without the item I needed.

THEATRIX WAS ESSENTIAL IN OUR QUEST TO HAVE MANY OF OUR INCANDESENT STANDARD UNITS REPLACED WITH ETC LED D60 AND ETC LED SOURCE4 ELLIPSOIDALS.. THEY ARE FANTASTIC AND WHEN MIXED WITH STANDARD INCANDESCENT UNITS PROVIDE A QUITE ACCEPTABLE QUALITY OF LIGHT THAT IS NOW VERY ECONOMICAL AND COMPLETELY COLOR FLEXIBLE. THEY ARE ALSO FUN TO USE. BRUCE WALLACE WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AS THE TECH*SPEC CONSULTANT IN GETTING THE LOCAL ELECTRIC UTILITY TO FUND 75% OF THE COST. THE MAJESTIC THEATER IS NOW A STATE OF THE ART LED EQUIPPED PROFESSIONAL THEATER.

The LEDs instruments were fantastic and were a perfect fit for what I was trying to do. They were bright, had excellent coverage and the color range was really cool. I also really appreciated the presets that were in the board, especially the colors. The amber color that was setup in the board saved me a lot of time. I would have taken me some time to get that mix figured out. I will definitely use those instruments again when I have to do general lighting that requires multiple colors.

This is Damon Lange. I own Nomad sound in Austin, TX, and am the sound engineer for Roomful of Teeth and Conspirare. I recently had the chance pleasure of working with Theatrix on a recent production. From the first call the Theatrix team were easy to reach, accommodating, and professional. Their Meyer gear was a nice fit for the space, and the gear arrived well prepped and on time. The onsite tech was great, and the whole show went very smoothly.
